Re-Visiting the A2 Library & One Evil Slice of Orange
After 11 years, I once again stepped inside the A2 Public Library...
Similar yet different...
(a secret garden, a seating area on the 2nd floor, & a sun-filled reading place on the 3rd floor)
First of all, I don't think I've ever set foot on floors other than the 1st floor
when I was there 11 years ago...since my long-living passion for children's/teenager's books
always keeps me in a perfect beeline
towards the kid sections of a library
whenever I enter one.(Kids section, me wondering in the basement,an advertisement page in the Nov. 2008 issue of Architectural Digest
---weird... it's not even November yet!!---
& a collection of borrow-able wall paintings and posters
---yes, you can borrow them and hang them up at you home!!
Isn't that nice!)
One major difference between the kids section of now and of then
is that
the kids that roam there now
seem to be so capable of producing such a ruckus...
How the time has changed the people and the place! Now there's even a small place to fulfill your needs when you are hungry!
Not sure if this is a good change though...
(the feeding area & an elegant stairway landscape)
As I was sitting on one of the chairs in the feeding area,
I came across this advertisement slogan in the out-too-soon Architectural Digest:
" Can you have an impact by making none at all? "
--- Toyota's zero emission vision.I thought it was quite cleverly phrased.
x x xThen,
after my 2-hr tour of the library,
the so-far-perfect day ended quite abruptly
as soon as the last slice of orange on the plate of my buffet lunch
ran gleefully down my throat towards an exploding stomach...
The result = an alarming16-hour (!!!) sleep
after that slice of orange went promptly out of my stomach
via the same way it came in....So much for not wanting to waste food...
Yet another of my few unwitting buffet "eat-to-die" experiences...
(Unwitting, since it looked all so innocent to begin with....)
Now I totally believe that a camel could be killed by one single straw...
To think I almost got killed by one slice of orange...
It's good to be alive...
